Russia makes IMF debt payments
MOSCOW. April 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Finance Ministry on Friday made two payments on Russia's debt to the International Monetary Fund amounting to $28.255 million and 20.721 million euros, a source in the ministry told Interfax. The first of these payments was made right on schedule and is a principal payment. The second payment, an interest payment, was made ahead of schedule, as it falls due on May 1. The Finance Ministry should make one more IMF debt payment in May -about $60 million (41.667 million SDR), due on May 20. Russia paid a total of about $765 million (530 million SDR) to the IMF in January-April. Russia's total payments to the IMF, including principal and interest, will amount to over $1.7 billion (1.181 billion SDR) in 2004. [RU EUROPE ASIA EEU EMRG MCE GVD IMF] rd <>
