29 April 2004 02:51 Russian money supply rises 2.8% in March MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Russian M2 money supply (national definition) rose 2.8% in March 2004 to 3.43 trillion
rubles from 3.33 trillion, the Central Bank of Russia reported. Money supply increased 6.8% in the first quarter of 2004
from 3.21 trillion rubles at the beginning of the year.
Cash supply (M0) edged up 0.1% in March 2004 to 1.165 trillion from 1.164 trillion rubles, and non-cash supply rose
4.3% to 2.26 trillion rubles from 2.17 trillion. Cash supply increased 1.6% in the first quarter of 2004 from 1.15
trillion, and non-cash supply grew 9.6% from 2.06 trillion.
The M2 aggregate is the volume of cash in circulation (outside banks) and balances in national currency in the
settlement and current accounts and deposits of resident non-financial enterprises, organizations and individuals. It
