Sibneft says reports of Total deal are rumors
MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Russian oil company Sibneft has announced that reports of a possible sale of part of the company's shares to French oil major Total are rumors, Sibneft PR Director Alexei Firsov told Interfax. "This information has been repeated for many years with cyclical regularity, and our reaction remains unchanged - we do not comment on rumors and publications based on anonymous sources," he said. Firsov also said "we never comment on negotiations and do not confirm that they are underway until a deal has been completed." Earlier the Financial Times, quoting an unnamed source, said that Total has received preliminary agreement from the Russian authorities to acquire 25% of shares in Sibneft.
