25 April 2004 21:49 IFC close to acquiring stake in Vneshtorgbank - Kudrin WASHINGTON. April 25 (Interfax) - Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said that the International Finance
Corporation, the World Bank's investment division, is close to acquiring a stake in Russia's
Vneshtorgbank.
"We discussed the acquisition of capital in Vneshtorgbank by the International Finance Corporation. Talks are
underway, and I think we are close to the IFC participating in Vneshtorgbank's capital," Kudrin told the press
in Washington following talks with World Bank President James Wolfensohn and IFC chief Peter Woicke.
He added that the stake that will possibly be acquired by the IFC has not been defined yet and is being negotiated.
