The Russia forward, Sergei Zinovyev, has been sent home from the world championships after failing a dope test, a senior team official has announced. Russia general manager, Anatoly Bardin, said that the 26- year-old right wing tested positive for marijuana before the team left for the championships in the Czech Republic. "We drug-tested every one of our players during the team's final training camp in Moscow," Bardin said. "All tests except Zinovyev's came out negative. We'll deal with him after the world championship." Despite the set-back, Russia got off to a winning start at the championships by beating Denmark 6-2 in Group C yesterday.
