Russia will discuss Iraq`s debt only as part of Paris Club - finance minister
Washington, 24 April: Russia does not intend to consider writing off Iraq's debts unilaterally, Russian Finance Minister Aleksey Kudrin said at a news conference today. Kudrin is taking part in a meeting of G8 financial chiefs and the spring session of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington. "We are waiting for the results of a IMF research on prospects for the development of Iraq's economy," Kudrin said in reply to a question by ITAR-TASS. "After this, Paris Club creditor countries will have to make a joint decision on Iraq's debt."
