New Russian law channels more oil profits into state budget
Moscow, 23 April: The State Duma has today adopted a federal law drafted by the government on increasing the taxation of super-profits of oil companies. There were 395 deputies in favour, 12 against and three abstentions. The increased export duties on oil and oil products stipulated in the law ensure additional tax revenues of R5bn per month for the federal budget at the present level of oil prices on the world market.
