Serbian official, Russian envoy urge swift reorganization of UNMIK, Kfor
Belgrade, 21 April: The chairman of the Coordination Centre for Kosovo-Metohija, Nebojsa Covic, and a representative of Russia in the Contact Group, Aleksandr Alekseyev, today concluded that the speediest possible reorganization of UNMIK [UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo] and Kfor [NATO-led Kosovo Force] was needed with regard to their readiness and capability to face mass unrest in Kosovo-Metohija. Covic and Alekseyev agreed that a more successful role by UNMIK, Kfor, the Contact Group and the UN Security Council was needed in stabilizing the situation in Kosovo-Metohija, the Coordination Centre said.
