15 April 2004 21:42 Russian deputy ministerial, federal agency appointments Moscow, 15 April: Russian Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko has appointed Yuriy Koptev head of the
[ministry's] space and aviation department, ITAR-TASS learned in the minister's office today.
Yuriy Koptev headed the Russian Space Agency (later Russian Aerospace Agency) from its foundation in 1992. In March
this year, after the Russian Aerospace Agency was turned into the Federal Space Agency, Koptev was replaced as head of
the agency by Russian Space Force Commander Gen Anatoliy Perminov.
Moscow, 15 April: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has signed an instruction appointing Vladimir Starodubov
deputy ministry of health and social reform, ITAR-TASS learned in the Government Information Department.
Starodubov was previously first deputy health minister.
Under another instruction, the prime minister has appointed Andrey Kashevarov deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly
Service. Earlier Mikhail Fradkov appointed Andrey Tsarikovskiy and Anatoliy Golomolvin deputy heads of this service. The
Federal Antimonopoly Service, unlike most federal agencies and services, comes under the direct jurisdiction of the
Russian prime minister, and is not subordinate to a federal minister.
