Russian company may withdraw personnel from Iraq (Part 2)
MOSCOW. Apr 13 (Interfax) - The personnel of Power Machines, a leading Russian company in energy engineering, will be withdrawn from Iraq in an Emergency Situations Ministry plane unless tensions in that country subsides within a few hours, company marketing director Alexander Zhigalov told Interfax on Tuesday. "The head of the company's office in Iraq and seven engineers are staying in Baghdad. We are in continuous contact with them," he said. "The head of the office is empowered to make a final decision on evacuation," Zhigalov said. Meanwhile, a source in the air passenger service community told Interfax that none of the Russian airlines has applied for a charter flight to Baghdad. There are no regular flights between Russia and Baghdad. On the other hand, the Emergency Situations Ministry did apply before April 10 for three flights to Baghdad, the source said.
