RUSSIA EXPORTS MORE ALUMINUM, LESS COPPER & NICKEL IN JAN-FEB
Even though copper and nickel exports were down by weight, value was up thanks to price increases for these metals. Russia's copper MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - Russia exported 71.5% more aluminum in the first two months, while its exports of refined copper was down 10% and primary nickel 6.8%. Current Federal Customs Service numbers show that Russia exported 758,200 tonnes of aluminum, 61,600 tonnes of copper and 32,400 tonnes of nickel. exports reached $144.5 million, 45.7% more year-on-year, its nickel exports to $484.4 million, up 95.5%. The country's aluminum exports were worth $832.3 million. Virtually all Russia's nonferrous metal exports went to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States.
