Businessmen seek monthly meetings with PM
The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is going to suggest that Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov should meet with the members of the business community every month, Igor Yurgens, Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, told RBC. The Prime Minister is due to meet with the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on Thursday to discuss the competitiveness of the country and ways to boost it.

During the premiership of Mikhail Kasyanov, meetings with the businessmen were held regularly, and the Council for Entrepreneurship was set up, according to Mr. Yurgens. The entrepreneurs are going to discuss the fate of the Council at the meeting with Mr. Fradkov. Mr. Yurgens said the authorities had consolidated, and new forms of cooperation could be considered. “The Prime Minister should tell how many times a week, a month, a quarter he would like to receive answers to questions about the state of the Russian business,” he stressed.

Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov decided to dissolve the government’s Council for Entrepreneurship, where big businesses could discuss their urgent problems with the government. The Council will be replaced by the government’s commission for competition. It seems the Prime Minister will consider today whether to invite some members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs to the new commission.
