Russian Cabinet`s debt totaled nearly $145 billion on January 1, 2004
MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - Russian government debt totaled 4.26 trillion rubles, or $144.8 billion, as of January 4, 2004, the Finance Ministry reports on its website. Of that amount, foreign debt is estimated at $121.6 billion, or 3.58 trillion rubles (84% of the total), and domestic debt at $232.2 billion, or 682 billion rubles (16% of the total). Loans totaling $67.8 billion account for 55.8% of the foreign debt, debts on repaying securities 35.3%, or $42.9 billion. Debts on Eurobonds amounted to $35.6 billion and other debts 9.0% of the total. Debts on securities totaled 670.9 billion rubles and other debts, 11.1 billion rubles. Foreign debt and domestic debt to be repaid within 12 months are estimated at $5.0 billion and 2.7 billion rubles respectively. The official exchange rate is 29.45 rubles to the dollar.
