Russia`s main goals are doubling GDP, reducing poverty
MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - The primary goals of the Russian government include doubling the GDP and reducing poverty by 50%, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said while meeting with UN General Secretary Kofi Annan on Monday. "This will include reducing the mortality rate and improving the level of healthcare and the quality of life," Fradkov said. "Solving these problems will generally help the [Russian] economy become more competitive," he said. Fradkov said the Russian government appreciated the UN's contribution to reforms in Russia.
