Russia sends humanitarian aid to Serbian refugees [Presenter] Russia is continuing its humanitarian operation in the Balkans. Two Il-76 aircraft left for Belgrade from
Ramenskoye air field [Moscow Region] about an hour ago. They are carrying electric power generators, water filters,
lamps and other equipment for Serbian refugees' tented camps.
A convoy of trucks with humanitarian aid is currently preparing to leave [for Serbia] from Noginsk [Moscow Region].
Our correspondent has the details.
[Correspondent] The loading has been completed. Six MAZ trucks are ready to leave and the drivers, many of whom have
been to Kosovo before, are receiving additional instructions. The plans are to send to Belgrade a total of 300 tonnes of
humanitarian aid prepared for Serbian refugees by the [Russian] Defence Ministry. It includes tents, beds, blankets and
warm clothes - everything needed to set up a tented camp. We talked to members of an operations group of the [Russian]
Emergencies Ministry before the departure.
[Unidentified man wearing an Emergencies Ministry uniform] We are taking equipment for refugee camps which will be
set up in Kosovo, namely tents, mattresses, pillows, blankets, electric appliances and other things which are part of a
life-support system.
[Correspondent] The plan is for the convoy to leave at 1000 [0700 gmt] after a short farewell ceremony. The journey
[to Belgrade] is going to take five days.
