RUSSIA SENDS HUMANITARIAN AID TO SERBS FLEEING KOSOVO MOSCOW, March 24 (ONASA/AFP) - Two Russian planes loaded with humanitarian aid for Serbs who have fled the recent
violence in Kosovo left for Belgrade from Moscow Wednesday, the emergencies ministry said. The two Il-76 cargo planes
flew out in the morning loaded with tents, beds, sheets, water-purifiers and supplies for field kitchens, said a
spokesman for the ministry, which is coordinating the effort. Russia plans to establish two tent camps for approximately
2,000 Serb refugees fleeing the violence in Kosovo, which has left 28 dead. Another two planes with humanitarian aid are
due to leave on Friday, the emergencies ministry said. Last week at least 25 Serb Orthodox churches and seven villages
were torched, more than 100 houses were levelled and some 600 people were injured when men from the ethnic Albanian
majority went on the rampage.
