Europe - RTR to invest Euro3.5 mil in Euronews
RTR (Russia), TV broadcaster, plans to invest Euro3.5 mil in Euronews through a private placement, increasing its
stake to 16% from 1.8% at present. The move has received all the necessary Russian govt authorisations and is now being
considered by the country's central bank. RTR will thus become a core investor in Euronews, multilingual channel
with 250 employees, whose consortium of public broadcaster shareholders, led by France Television, controls 90% of
equity.
