Moscow, 24 March: A Russian Emergencies Ministry plane carrying humanitarian aid for refugees from Kosovo has left
for Belgrade, an Emergencies Ministry official told Interfax.
"The Russian Emergencies Ministry's Il-76 Candid plane carrying humanitarian aid left the Ramenskoye
airfield outside Moscow for Belgrade at 1010 Moscow time (0710 gmt). The second plane left for Serbia-Montenegro at 1020
Moscow time (0720 gmt)," Emergencies Ministry spokesperson Marina Ryklina told Interfax.
The planes will supply the country with humanitarian cargo and equipment for a tent camp for Serbian refugees from
Kosovo, Ryklina said. At Serbia's request, Russia will provide water purification systems, mobile power plants and
heaters for refugee camps on Wednesday [24 March].
Ryklina earlier told Interfax that another two Russian Emergencies Ministry planes would take humanitarian aid for
Serbian refugees to Belgrade on Friday. Two more planes with humanitarian cargo will leave for Serbia on Monday. Ryklina
said humanitarian aid for the refugees from Kosovo will also be delivered by land. "A convoy of 10 Kamaz trucks
with humanitarian aid will leave Noginsk outside Moscow for Belgrade on Friday. The convoy will carry blankets,
mattresses, tents, dishes and food for the Serbian refugees," she said.
