Russian aid to Kosovo refugees to be long term - emergencies minister
Belgrade, 23 March: Russian assistance to refugees from Kosovo "will not be of a one-off nature, but long term", Russian Emergencies Minister Sergey Shoygu said here today, answering questions from Russian journalists. "Russia regards it as one of its main tasks to halt the exodus of the non-Albanian population from Kosovo, and to build long-term relations with the government of Serbia-Montenegro in the humanitarian sphere," the minister said. "The first group of Russian planes carrying humanitarian aid will be heading for Serbia on Wednesday 24 March," the minister said. "The next group of planes will set off on Friday 26 March," he said.
