17 March 2004 14:13 RUSSIA RAISES INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT 8.1% MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Russia raised its industrial output 8.1% year-on-year in January-February 2004,
compared to a 5.7% rise in the first two months of 2003, the Federal State Statistics Service reported Tuesday.
Industrial production grew 8.7% year-on-year in February 2004 and 7.5% in January.

metallurgy, 8.7% timber, wood, pulp and paper, 6.9% in food, 4.8% in printing, 1.7% in nonferrous metallurgy, and 0.2%
in electricity. Production was down 3.8% in microbiology and 2.7% in the light industry. In other industries, output
rose by an average of 8.9%.
