RUSSIA UPS ALUMINUM EXPORTS IN JAN
MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Russia exported 411,700 tonnes of unprocessed aluminum in January 2004, up 69% from 243,000 tonnes in January 2003, the State Customs Committee reported. Exports of refined copper dropped 8.4% to 35,000 tonnes from 38,200 tonnes and exports of unprocessed nickel fell 26.9% to 12,800 tonnes from 17,500. In value terms, exports in January 2004 totaled $429.3 million for aluminum, $79.4 million for copper, and $192.4 million for nickel. Almost all exports went to non-CIS countries.
