RUSSIA: RUSSIA INCREASES ALUMINIUM EXPORTS IN JANUARY
Russia exported 411,700 tons of unprocessed aluminium in January 2004, up 69 percent from 243,000 tons in January 2003, the State Customs Committee reported. Exports of refined copper dropped 8.4 percent to 35,000 tons from 38,200 tons and exports of unprocessed nickel fell 26.9 percent to 12,800 tons from 17,500. In value terms, exports in January 2004 totalled US$429.3 million for aluminium, $79.4 million for copper, and $192.4 million for nickel. - (EMEconomy.com)
