Chechens leaving refugee camps, Russian radio says
Despite the public holiday [a reference to the 8 March holiday in Russia], the flow of internally displaced persons returning to their homeland [Chechnya] from Ingushetia is not subsiding. Government committee figures indicate that more than 100 families have returned to Chechnya over the past week. The remaining two tent camps in Ingushetia's territory, Satsita and Sputnik, accommodate just over 3,000 people. Around 40,000 more live in private homes. Ingush authorities are ready to provide apartment-type accommodation for those who have no intention of ever going back to the Chechen Republic.
