INDIA LAGS IN EXPORT GROWTH (India, with 13.48% rise in exports during Apr-Dec 2003, is behind Brazil, China, Russia and South Korea)
India, with 13.48 percent rise in exports during Apr-Dec 2003 is behind major developing countries including Brazil, China, Russia and South Korea. India is fourth among the BRIC group consisting of Brazil, Russia, India and China, with total exports worth $42.4 billion during Apr-Dec 2003. China, registering growth of 32.8 percent for Jan-Oct 2003 with exports worth $333.7 billion is on top of the list. Exports of Russia went up 25.3 percent in 2003 to $133.7 billion. Brazil registered $24.8 billion trade surplus owing to 21 percent increase in exports. Exports of India went up 42 percent in Dec 2003.
