Russia posts 180.2 bln ruble consolidated budget surplus
Consolidated budget revenue totaled 4.13 trillion rubles (3.52 trillion in 2002), including tax revenue of 3.72 trillion (3.14 MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - Russia's consolidated budget surplus totaled 180.2 billion rubles in 2003, against 97 billion rubles in 2002, the State Statistics Committee said Thursday. Tax revenue included 882.1 billion rubles in VAT (6.6% of GDP), against 752.7 billion in 2002, 526.5 billion in profit tax (4%), trillion), and spending totaled 3.95 trillion rubles (3.42 trillion). 255.1 billion on housing and utilities (1.9%), 333.5 billion on industry, energy and construction (2.5%), 304.1 billion on law against 463.3 billion, 455.6 billion in income tax (3.4%), against 358.1 billion, and 364.6 billion rubles in unified social tax (2.8%), against 339.5 billion. Non-tax revenue totaled 330.4 billion rubles. Spending items included 1.17 trillion rubles on social and cultural areas (8.8% of GDP), 355.7 billion on national defense (2.7%), enforcement and state security (2.3%), and 240.8 billion on servicing state and municipal debt (1.8%).
