Russia to render anti-terrorism military aid to Mongolia
Ulaanbaatar, 3 March: Russia and Mongolia have singed here on Wednesday [3 March] an inter-governmental agreement on free of charge Russian military-technological aid to Mongolia. Department chief of the Russian committee on military-technological cooperation with foreign countries Vyacheslav Dzirkaln and state secretary of the Mongolian Defence Ministry Surengiin Basanhuu signed the document. Dzirkaln told Russian reporters here that this three-year framework agreement stipulates the delivery to Mongolian units of special-purpose hardware to fight terrorists. "It is planned to train, at the initial stage of the agreement's implementation, the Mongolian specialists that are needed to combat terrorism and to provide them with the necessary equipment," he stated. Dzirkaln did not indicate the exact dimensions of this aid, merely stating that "it is sufficient to form counter-terrorism units in Mongolia".
