RUSSIA: CHECHNYA - SAUDI COMMITTEE DISTRIBUTES AID TO REFUGEES According to IINA, about 3000 baskets of food were distributed among the Chechen refugees at the camp which was set
up by the Saudi Committee for the Relief of Chechen Refugees in Ingushetia. The committee also distributed some 2850
loaves of bread during the month of January, besides distributing 33 tons of wheat flour, two tons of sugar, 3283 liters
of food oil, under the World Food Program. The committee has set up a medical center and an advanced school at the camp.
The committee is also sponsoring 37 orphans at an orphanage in Ingushetia. Under the Russian plan for the Relief of
Chechen Refugees, some 1900 Chechen refugees returned to their country, leaving behind about 3152 refugees in the
camp.
