SIBUR TIRE PLANTS UP OUTPUT 5.4% IN 2003
MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The oil and gas holding AK Sibur's tire plants increased output 5.4% to 17.9 million tires, the holding has told Interfax. Of Sibur's four tire plants, Voltair (Volzhsky, Volgograd region) turned out 2.87 million tires (3.03 million in 2002). This plant's share of the Russian market in 2003 was 7.7%, according to the tire industry's scientific-research institute. The institute's figures indicate that Sibur's market share as a whole was 47% in 2003. It produces 47.2% of the truck tires on the Omskshina (inlcuding the joint venture Matador-Omskshina) produced 6.74 million tires (6.5 million), for a 19.9% market share. Uralshina produced 1.98 million tires (1.7 million), for a 2.5% share. Yaroslavl Tire Plant made 6.3 million tires (5.7 million), for a 17.5% market share. Russian market, 63.5% of the tires for agricultural machinery, 43.5% of the car tires and 73.3% of the motorcycle tires.
