Deputy Prime Ministers of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine are meeting in Minsk on Friday for talks on the Common Economic Space. The Ukrainian delegation will be headed by Ukrainian Finance Minister Nikolay Azarov, his assistant Vitaly Lukyanenko told RBC.
A list of international agreements needed for the creation of the Common Economic Space will be discussed at the meeting. The are 168 sections in the list, and each of them contains one or several agreements. According to Mr. Lukyanenko, only a general meeting is planned, but it is possible that bilateral talks will also be held.
Russia will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko, Belarus – by Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Kobyakov, and Kazakhstan – by Deputy Prime Minister Sauat Mynbayev, who will preside over the meeting.
The leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine announced plans to create the Common Economic Space on February 23, 2003. The agreement was signed at a CIS summit in Yalta on September 19.
