Federal budget surplus 5.3% of GDP in Jan (part 2)
MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - The Russian federal budget had a surplus of 55.46 billion rubles or 5.3% of GDP in January 2004, a source in the Russian Finance Ministry told Interfax, quoting early figures on budget financing. Federal budget revenue in January amounted to 217.834 billion rubles, which was 6.4% over target. January's revenue amounted to 34.1% of the target for the first quarter. Federal budget spending in January, according to early figures, amounted to 162.379 billion rubles, or 90.6% of adjusted planned spending in January. Spending in January amounted to 24.3% of target for the quarter. The primary budget surplus amounted to 66.5 billion rubles in January, or 6.4% of forecast GDP for the month.
