Perpetrators identified in North Ossetia blast
People involved in Tuesday’s explosion in Vladikavkaz have been identified, officials of the North Ossetian Interior Ministry said.

A team of investigators was set up immediately after the explosion ripped through central Vladikavkaz on Tuesday evening. The team includes investigators of the North Ossetian Interior Ministry, the North Ossetian Prosecutor’s Office and the Department of the Federal Security Service. In the course of investigation, the owner of the VAZ-2107 car, where a bomb was planted, was identified. In addition, people involved in the preparation of this terrorist act were identified.

A powerful blast shook central Vladikavkaz, the capital of the southern Russian republic of North Ossetia, at 17:17 Moscow time on Tuesday. The bomb went off outside an administrative building. Three cars – BMW and two VAZ cars – were parked nearby, and one of them exploded. One person was killed in the blast, and another person is in a coma. Another eleven people, including a child, were injured.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (Murder) and Article 205 (Terrorism). Several theories are being examined by investigators, including criminal infighting. In the past, there were several deadly explosions outside the business office, where Tuesday’s blast occurred.
