RUSSIA: DUMA APPROVES LAW ON FARMLAND MORTGAGE.
According to Ria Novosti, the State Duma (the lower house of Parliament) has accepted the Conciliatory
Committee's version of the amendments to the federal law "On Mortgages/Security Deposits for Real
Estate," that had been rejected previously by the Federation Council (the upper house of parliament). The new law
removes restrictions on mortgages for farmland and introduces limitations on mortgages for federal and municipal
properties.
