Real incomes in Russia grew by over 14 per cent in 2003 Moscow, 23 January: The real disposable income of the Russian population, calculated without mandatory payments and
indexed to consumer prices, grew by 14.5 per cent in 2003 in comparison with the previous year, according to State
Statistics Committee figures obtained by Prime-TASS today.
In December 2003 real incomes grew by 28.3 per cent compared with the previous month, and by 20.2 per cent compared
with December 2002.
[Quoting State Statistics Committee figures, the same agency said in a separate report that Russia's retail
trade turnover in 2003 totalled R4,483.5bn, which represents an 8-per-cent increase on the previous year.]
