Anatoly Chubais, the Chief Executive Officer of the national energy grid RAO UES of Russia, is leaving for Davos, Switzerland, today to participant in the world economic forum.
The RAO UES head is expected to meet with his foreign colleagues and discuss outlooks for the Russian electricity market and issues related to security at electrical power generation facilities.
In addition, Chubais will meet with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to discuss collaboration between RAO UES and Georgia, the RAO UES press service reported. He is going to meet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan to discuss collaboration in the electricity sector. Finally, the RAO UES head is expected to participate in a discussion devoted to the consequences of EU expansion for neighboring countries.
The 34th world economic forum opened in Davos today. About 2,100 delegates from 94 countries are going to participate in the forum, including more than 30 leaders of countries and 75 prime ministers. At this forum, Russia will be represented by Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin. Among other members of the Russian delegation are Telecommunications Minister Leonid Reiman, presidential economic advisor Andrey Illarionov, Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Igor Yurgens and others.
