17 December 2003 19:09 Israeli minister warns against dependence on Arab gas National Infrastructure Minister Yosef Paritzky warned that the gas companies' dependence on the Arab world
places the stability of Israel's energy infrastructure at risk, particularly in light of the volatile political and
security situation. Paritzky proposed expanding ties with gas companies which are not associated with Arab countries. He
said that companies in the CIS [Commonwealth of Independent States]are interested in working with the Israeli market and
in playing a dominant role. One of the companies is Russia's largest energy company. This was reported by our
correspondent Ronen Pollack.
