24 November 2002 18:58 Russia's unemployment rate 7.1 per cent in October Moscow, 22 November: The number of Russia's unemployed fell 0.3 per cent on the month and 26.8 per cent on the
year in October to 5.145 million, or 7.1 per cent of the labour force, the State Statistics Committee said Friday [22
November].
The figure was calculated according to the methodology of the International Labour Organization.
The number of officially registered unemployed in Russia rose 0.6 per cent on the month and 18.3 per cent on the year
in October to 1.197 million, or 1.7 per cent of the labour force.
Russia's labour force was estimated at 72.4 million as of the end of October, the committee said.
