Russian inflation may be slightly above forecast 12%
MOSCOW. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Russian inflation may be slightly above the forecast 12% this year, economists said following the State Statistics Committee's update on consumer price growth for November. Inflation was on the low side at 1% in November mainly because the government acted to keep service charges down. These grew 0.4% in November, compared with 0.8% in October. Yevgeny Gavrilenkov, chief economist at the Troika Dialog investment company, said he thought December inflation would be a little higher in December than in November, but that it would "not be much higher than 1%." "In the year as a whole, inflation will be a shade over 12%," Gavrilenkov said. [RU ASIA EUROPE EEU EMRG RET MCE RESF ECI] pr <>
