04 December 2003 15:07 Russia discloses budget surplus figures for first 11 months of 2003 Moscow, 4 December: The federal budget surplus for the period January-November 2003 came to R152.17bn, or 1.26 per
cent of GDP, a source in the Ministry of Finance has told Prime-TASS.
The federal budget's revenues for the first 11 months of this year reached R2,342.28bn, while expenditure came
to R2,190.12bn (based on financing information).
The federal budget's primary surplus for the period January-November 2003 came to R356.64bn, or 2.95 per cent of
GDP. The forecast GDP volume came to R12,081.9bn based on the first 11 months of the year.
For the period January-November 2003, revenue contributed to the federal budget was as follows: by the Ministry of
Taxes and Levies - R1,517.15bn; by the State Customs Committee - R684.68bn; by the Ministry of Property Relations -
R39.43bn; by the Ministry of Finance (including the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) - R69.57bn; by the Ministry of
Atomic Energy - R18.14bn; and by the State Fisheries Committee - R12.78bn.
Net borrowing from the internal market came to R126.5bn in the period January-November 2003, while net settlement of
foreign debt reached R278.67bn.
Since the start of the year, balances on the accounts of the federal treasury have fallen by R42.56bn.
