03 November 2003 06:39 Kasyanov, U.S. housing secretary discuss home loans MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary
Mel Martinez discussed cooperation in urban construction and mortgage financing at a meeting in Moscow on Monday.
In particular, Kasyanov and Martinez discussed joint housing construction and home loan projects and the construction
of municipal housing, Kasyanov's press secretary Tatyana Razbash told the press.
These issues were discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President George W. Bush at their last Camp
David meeting, she said.
Kasyanov and Martinez decided to set up a working group on municipal housing cooperation and mortgage financing.
They also agreed to organize a seminar to discuss these issues and compare notes on housing and utilities management
in Dubna outside Moscow. The participants in the seminar will also discuss the training of Russian specialists on
certain aspects of apartment construction.
Kasyanov agreed at the meeting that Russia should take into consideration U.S. experience in mortgage financing,
