Gazprom, Gaz de France chiefs discuss cooperation
MOSCOW. Oct 6 (Interfax) - Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Gaz de France President Pierre Gadonneix discussed cooperation between their companies to develop European gas infrastructure and supply Russian gas to France, at a Monday meeting. Gazprom said in a press release that the discussion dealt with gas transportation routes, such as the North TransGas Pipeline, the development of the liquefied natural gas market and also the implementation of joint energy conservation projects. Discussion of bilateral cooperation will be continued at a meeting of the Gazprom and Gaz de France coordination committee, which will take place in Paris on October 10-11. The coordination committee was set up in June 2003 in line with a memorandum on the development of cooperation between the two companies. Gazprom and Gaz de France started cooperating in 1976. Since then Gazprom has supplied the French company with over 225 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Gas supplies are carried out based on several long-term contracts. Gazprom supplied Gaz de France with 11.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2002. [RU EUROPE ASIA EEU EMRG FR ENR ELG NGS TRD] rd
