26 September 2003 17:03 Head of Russian Orthodox Church visits Estonia Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II, currently in Estonia, met with believers and clergymen of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchy on Friday.
In the morning Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia Cornilius, representatives of the Estonian Orthodox Church and hundreds of believers greeted the Patriarch at St. Alexander Nevsky's cathedral where Alexis II conducted a church service. According to the security service data, the cathedral can house only 1,500 people and many believers failed to see the liturgy.
In the afternoon the Patriarch is expected to meet with Estonian Prime Minister Juhan Parts. In the evening His Holiness will participate in the celebrations of the Exaltation of the Cross holiday and conduct a church service at the same cathedral. A big TV screen to broadcast the evening service live is being installed at Lotsi Plats square where the cathedral is situated.
