Safety system shuts down unit at Novovoronezh nuclear power plant
The automatic safety system shut down the third unit of the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant on Wednesday evening, says a report from Rosenergoatom. "The safety system shut down the unit on a false alarm of an excessive level in a high-pressure heater," says the report. The event is preliminary estimated at zero, "no safety significance," on the International Nuclear Event Scale (INES). The third unit is being prepared for a re-start and the radiation level is normal, Rosenergoatom said.
