Russian economics ministry reports growth in GDP, industrial output
Moscow, 23 September: Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 6.6 per cent on the year in January-August, according to the Economic Development and Trade Ministry's social and economic report released on Tuesday [23 September]. In August, Russia's GDP rose 5.1 per cent on the year, the report said. Russia's consumer prices index (CPI) was up 8.3 per cent in January-August, while in August Russia posted deflation of 0.4 per cent. Russia's producer price index (PPI) rose 9 per cent in January-August and 1.4 per cent in August. Russia's industrial output increased by 6.6 per cent on the year in January-August and rose 5.5 per cent in August, according to the ministry.
