Russia for NATO`s clear position about observing UN Charter
Russia speaks for a clear position of NATO regarding observing the UN Charter and the prerogatives of the UN Security Council, Deputy Speaker of the Russian State Duma Lyubov Sliska stated today at the opening of a regular meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly committee for economic and security issues. "There are both positive things and problems about our collaboration. First of all this concerns NATO's future," Sliska stressed. The Iraqi issue "has triggered a great discussion regarding NATO's role in the global security system", the top official stressed. In her opinion, due to this NATO will have to clear up the legal basis of using military force beyond the defense of member countries, as well as humanitarian affairs.
