19 September 2003 13:05 Balkancar Record Resumes Forklift Production A NEW forklift make with a load capacity of 1.25 tonnes and 1.6 tonnes, was officially launched yesterday in the
Plovdiv-based Balkancar Record AD, board chairman Ivan Dorkov announced. The new make will be exhibited at the Plovdiv
International Fair. Mr Dorkov cited cases where Plovdiv-made forklifts, produced on the 1980s are being sold by Turkish,
Ukrainian and Russian dealers as brand new machines, after recycling in local workshops. Later, when the truth has
surfaced out, clients call us to ask what's going on, he added. These are markets where EU standards are inactive
and we find it very difficult to seek to ensure our right, Dorkov commented.
Balkancar Record AD remains the largest forklift manufacturer in Bulgaria This year's output is expected to
stand at 400 machines. The company was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 quality management certificate, approved by UKAS of
England, the US ANSI-RAB and the Dutch RvA. .
