as owning Chelsea FC - has a 450-acre, GBP12 million estate at Fyning Hill in Rogate, West Sussex, with indoor and
outdoor swimming pools and a five-lane bowling alley.
Billionaire Abramovich also owns an apartment in Knightsbridge. The four-bedroom, fourreception flat in Lowndes
Square is up for sale at GBP5 million.
Estate agents estimate as many as one in three properties at the most expensive end of the market are being snapped
up by Russians, buying in areas including Belgravia, Mayfair and Knightsbridge. Many buy discreetly to avoid the prying
eyes of their own financial regulators.
Some Russian businessmen are already making money out of their properties.
