Arafat`s deportation would be "serious mistake" - Russian spokesman
[Presenter] We've learned about the Russian official reaction just now. This is what Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Yakovenko has told our channel over the telephone. [Yakovenko] Moscow is deeply concerned about the decision of the Israeli government to take a step towards the removal of the leader of Palestinian National Authority, Yasir Arafat. Its implementation would be a serious political mistake, fraught with the most negative consequences for the situation in the [Middle East] region, which is already complicated enough. This step would frustrate hopes for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli crisis and lead to the uncontrollable development of events according to the worst scenario.
