Russian Foreign Minister shocked by death of Swedish colleague
Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov was deeply shocked to hear about the death of his Swedish counterpart, Anna Lindh.

"It is a great tragedy for us," he told a press conference that followed his talks with the foreign minister of Serbia and Montenegro. "She was a good friend of ours, we cooperated closely in the interests of Sweden and Russia. It is a great loss," Ivanov stressed.

Ms. Lindh died on Thursday of internal bleeding caused by stab wounds to her abdomen, having been attacked by an unknown criminal in a department store in Stockholm. Doctors had been trying to stop the bleeding for more than 12 hours.
