Gazprom to explore and develop Kyrgyzstan`s fields.
Gazprom will explore and develop Kyrgyzstan's fields under the joint action program elaborated to implement Gazprom/Kyrgyzstan agreement on gas cooperation which was made on May 16, 2003 for 25 years.

Gazprom head Alexei Miller signed the said program on Sept. 25. Then it was forwarded to Kyrgyzstan's PM Nikolay Tanaev, Gazprom said.

Kyrgyzstan has 5.7 bcm of natural gas in proven reserves which are hard to explore due to their specific nature and undeveloped infrastructure. Natural gas consumption stands at 0.6 bcm on year and is ensured by gas import from Uzbekistan.
