7 people die of mushroom poisoning in South Russia
Over 60 people have suffered from mushroom poisoning in South Russia’s Voronezh Region. Seven people, including one child have died. Chief medic of the regional sanitary centre Mikhail Chubirko told the press on Thursday that the victims had consumed mushrooms of unknown origin. 11 adults and 4 children remain in the special centre established in the region for the mushroom season. Condition of several patients is described as grave.

The medic noted that all victims were city dwellers and expressed his regret over the fact that the city dwellers cannot distinguish edible mushrooms from poisonous ones.
